Huw Jones (Head Civil & Structure)
I joined Eigen in September 2008 as Head of Civil & Structures. I have been impressed with the can do culture and extent of services that Eigen provide around the world.
I had been with Laing O'Rourke for fifteen years prior to joining Eigen predominantly involved with structural design and management. Although I had some knowledge of the services that Eigen provided it has been a pleasant surprise to find that this was just a small part of its capability. Eigen understands that being consultancy service provider its human resource must be professional and technically competent and to this end is focuses on continual development of its people. In the international market Eigen provides outsourcing services to many leading Consultants seamlessly utilizing the latest software and design practices. What really has impressed me is how Eigen is customer focused, innovative, ambitious and always endeavouring to deliver best value. One area where I believe Eigen is certainly a leading the way in BIM/3D modeling. Some exciting aspects within C&S include providing full structural consultancy on several medium / high rise buildings and probably the largest dedicated post tensioning team in Asia. There is also an infrastructure design group who are preparing full structural design of 4 level interchanges including post tensioned structures with spans up to 45m spans.
